Nigerian man stabs wife to death, then cuts her into pieces

The man pictured above, Arowolo Akolade L, allegedly stabbed his wife to death and cut her into pieces on Saturday June 24, 2011.

Kolade, was claimed to be a born again Christian, and Titilayo had been married for two years and had a daughter. No one knows exactly what transpired the day he killed his wife, only, family and friends got worried when Titi didn't show up at work or contact anyone for days. The police were called in and when they got to the couple's home, they found Titi's dismembered body and a distraught Kolade there. He has since been arrested.
 
Friends say Titi had left Kolade sometime last year, after he beat her mercilessly, but went back to him, only to be killed. The late Titi was a staff on Skye Bank, Victoria Island. May her soul rest in peace...amen.

New report ranks Nigeria the 14th most failed state in the world

Nigeria has once again been ranked the 14th most failed state in the world; only better than Somalia, Sudan, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Central African, Iraq, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Pakistan, and Yemen.

The is according to the seventh annual Failed States Index report 2011 ranking by Fund for Peace, an American independent non-profit research and educational organization that works to prevent violent conflicts and promote sustainable security in the world.

Nigeria maintains its same position as that of last year.

Looks like Opera Winfrey’s 25 year reign over the national television is finally coming to an end. The final show is scheduled to be airedon May 25th 2011. A farewell show was done to honor Opera Winfrey which will be aired in two partson 23rd and 24th May 2011.
Oprah Winfrey neared the end of her quarter-century reignon national television on Tuesday night with a star-studded send-off featuring Beyonce, Madonna, Aretha Franklin, Tom Cruise, Michael Jordan and many others who honored the talk show queen’s efforts to boost education and fight poverty.
“She’s a self-made woman who’s been at the top of her game for over 25 years — and she’s still kicking ass,” Madonna told a delighted audience of about 13,000 in a Chicago arena.
Wearing a purple gown, the pony-tailed Winfrey basked in the night of tributes from A-list celebrities and friends. Billed as “Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular” because Winfrey was kept in the dark about the guest list.
Winfrey’s final original “Oprah Winfrey Show”, whose contents are still under wraps, will airon May 25, bringing to a close 25 years of the most-watched daytime talk showon U.S. television.
“Your show has turned surprise into an art form,”actor Tom Hanks told Winfreyon Tuesday. “Oprah Winfrey, today you are surrounded by nothing but love. Your studio was notbig enough to hold it all, so here we are,” Hanks said, gesturing around the glittering basketball arena and concert venue.
Madonna praised Winfrey for her courage. “It’s no secret that millions of people are inspired by Oprah,” she said. “I amone of those people … She fights for things she believes in, even if it makes her unpopular.”
A slimmed-down Aretha Franklin, now recovered from major surgery six months ago, sang “Amazing Grace” to a stunned Winfrey. Beyonce, who performed her new single “Run the World (Girls), said that because of her “women everywhere have graduated to a new level of understanding of what we are, who we are, and who we can be.”
Maria Shriver, whose estranged husband Arnold Schwarzeneggeron Tuesday admitted fathering a child in an adulterous relationship, also came to Chicago to pay tribute to her 30-year friendship with Winfrey. “You’ve given me love, support, wisdom, and most of all, the truth,” Shriver said.
A beaming Cruise told Winfrey it was an honor to have beenon her show 12 times since 1988. Referring to his first appearanceon the show 23 years ago, Winfrey quipped, “You looked like you were 10.”
The special also included appearances by Will Smith, Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, singer-actress Queen Latifah, Josh Groban, Patti LaBelle, Jerry Seinfeld, John Legend, broadcaster Diane Sawyer and basketball star Michael Jordan.
Winfrey, regarded as the most influential womanon U.S. television, is wrapping the final season of her syndicated Chicago-based show to devote more energy to her fledgling OWN cable network, which launched in January.
On a night of both performances and tributes, Jamie Foxx and Stevie Wonder serenaded Winfrey with “Isn’t She Lovely” and country band Rascal Flatts sang “I Won’t Let Go”.
R&B star Usher closed the evening by singing the rousing spiritual “Oh Happy Day” and was joined by Winfrey and many of the other celebrities, clapping and singing.
Overcome by emotion, Winfrey declared, “I feel the love, and I thank you for it.”

Speculation was RIFE when Chris tweeted Rihanna saying: "@Rihanna you got that pic I sent you”, He quickly deleted it but not before some eagle eyed fan had taken a screenshot of the tweet for all to see.

People are now thinking that he meant to direct message the singer rather than tweet and that the the picture may have been one of the saucy variety.

Rihanna fans are not gonna be happy about this latest turn of events, they were peeved enough when they just started following each other on Twitter, let alone saying actual words to one another. And words that imply further communication!

BreakingNews: Luclay Loves Weza!

Luclay could not contain himself during the Saturday night party and poured his heart out to Weza. It eventually all got too emotional for him and he cried a river of tears.

After his strippingsession with Alex, Luclay caught Weza off guard and kissedheron the lips. Weza was furious and told Luclay to back off because he has a girlfriend. This started a lengthy discussion in which Luclayexpressed how much he wants to be with Weza. He revealed how much of a connection they have and stated how emotionally and sexually attracted he is to the Angolan lass.

Wezawas not prepared to entertain Luclay and reminded him that he has a significant other. She asked how long he has been dating her and when Luclay said five months, she calmly told him he falls in and out of love too quickly for his own good. Luclay was overtaken by emotion and poured tears and he poured out his heart.

He eventually expressed (like he always does during Saturday night parties) that he will ask to leaveon Monday if he is not Evictedon Sunday.

You know that people are obsessed with Justin Bieber when his fans get seriously jealous over the fact he is dating someone.

It is normal.. remember when Justin Timberlakeand Britney Spears were dating? Or Prince William, when he was popularand had girlfriends before Kate Middleton (many girls wanted to date Wills back before he met Kate).. it happens whoever is in their current 15 min of· fame.
And now the target is : Selena Gomez who is 'dating' Justin Bieber (see article here for the famous photo).
Of course thanks to Twitter, fans have been tweeting hateful messages:

The thing is...· why do people care who he is dating or not? The die hard fans need to smell the rosesand realize that Justin Bieber will not date his fans. Hey I had my celeb crush (Leonardo DiCaprio)and I neveronce expected to date him. I just like his actingand the movies he does. Still he is a crush, but notone to obsess over. You know that you are totally obsessing over a celeb when you can't realize that a celeb is not going to date a random fan. period.
So honestly, LET IT GO!and stop with the threats, that just makes you look stupid. Geez. Middle School anyone??? Reminds me when I had a crushon thisone guy. He looked like John Travolta in Grease, every girl liked him, guys wanted to be him. Heck, I would imagine what it was like to kiss him. However, I knew that I would never date him.
Although 10 years after having a crushon him (mind you I liked him forone school year) I ran into him.... at a mini reunion and my dream did become reality, we did kissand I talked to my 'inner self' from the middle school yearsand said "so that is what it was like to kiss him?? Dude. Not exciting." So sometimes things can happen ,but when that crush back in middle school dated various girls, I wasn't jealous because I knew I wouldn't date him. Eh, you have to learn life is short and move on. Crushes come and go but never obsess overone. Period.
